Qi2.2 Certified 25W Fast Charger – Compatible with iPhone 17

2025-05-21 10:43:32

Given that the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) has released the Qi2.2 specification for 25W charging scenarios in late 2024, the iPhone 17 is expected to be the first in Apple's lineup to fully adopt Qi2.2 certification, maintaining 25W magnetically aligned fast charging while further optimizing thermal management and energy efficiency.

Qi 2.2
In December 2024, the WPC mentioned the Qi 2.2 specification in its logo guidelines and introduced two new badges for high-power scenarios: "Qi2 25W" and "Qi2 Ready 25W," marking the official launch of Qi2.2. Compared to previous versions, Qi2.2 upgrades the standard to natively support 25W magnetically aligned charging while imposing stricter thermal performance requirements, mandating that surface temperatures remain below 40°C even at 25W output to balance charging speed and efficiency.

Overview of Qi 2.2 Wireless Charging Modules
Based on the Qi2.2 standard, major manufacturers are accelerating the release of next-gen wireless charging modules. The support for 25W high-power charging significantly enhances the wireless charging experience for smartphones. Below, ChargerLAB will introduce some of the upcoming Qi2.2-compatible wireless charging modules already announced by various companies.

Despite the rapidly growing industry interest in Qi2.2, the WPC's official website and knowledge base still list Qi 2.1 as the latest public version, with no official technical documentation or certification process for Qi2.2 yet released. Most mass-produced products are still certified under Qi2 (v2.0) or Qi2.1, while modules strictly designed to meet the rumored "25W magnetic alignment + thermal management" requirements and obtain WPC certification remain in testing and application phases.

Huagon's 25W one coil wireless charging module

Huagon's 25W module supports input voltages of 5V/3A, 9V/3A, and 15V/3A, with a maximum output of 25W, catering to modern high-power devices.  The module has a magnetic adhesion force of 900gf to ensure a secure connection during charging while preventing accidental slippage. Its design balances performance and aesthetics, making it suitable for various portable and fixed wireless charging applications.  This product is ideal for scenarios requiring sustained high-power output, such as desktop fast charging stations or in-car wireless chargers.

In real-world testing, under 25°C ambient conditions with a heat-dissipating enclosure and forced air cooling, the Huagon 25W module maintained stable output with controlled surface and internal temperatures. Even without active cooling, it showed no power reduction or abnormal charging interruptions. In a 100% cycle charging test with the iPhone 16 Pro Max, it achieved full stable charging in 111 minutes (with forced cooling) and 141 minutes (with passive cooling), meeting performance expectations while keeping the module's peak temperature below 40°C.

Bestechnic's Multi-Coil Wireless Charging Module
Bestechnic has launched a single-chip, triple-coil wireless charging module supporting the latest MPP 25W Qi2.2 protocol while remaining compatible with BPP and Watch charging modes, enabling up to three coils on a single chip to deliver 5W/7.5W/10W/15W (EPP/MPP) and 25W (MPP) outputs.

Jadard's Latest Qi2.2 Wireless Charging Module
Jadard's newly released Qi2.2 wireless charging module adopts a split PCBA design and integrates an efficient DC-DC buck/boost converter, ensuring high efficiency and stability even at 25W high-power transmission. According to ChargerLAB's tests, the module has a diameter of approximately 43.97mm.

NuVolta's MPP 25W Fast Charging Module Series
NuVolta's MPP 25W fast charging module series includes two key products: the Nu300 and Nu325.

Conclusion
The products summarized above all support 25W wireless charging and meet thermal management requirements for certification. Once the Qi2.2 specification is officially released, they are expected to be among the first high-power products to receive Qi2.2 certification. As manufacturers ramp up internal testing, optimize thermal performance and efficiency, and await the WPC's full 2.2 standard release, more high-power modules compliant with Qi2.2 are likely to debut later this year or next.
