There are some newest information about QI2.
WPC's latest Qi2 wireless charging standard, optimized based on Apple MagSafe's MPP protocol, facilitates user alignment and use during wireless charging, with better compatibility and charging efficiency. WPC standardizes and standardizes it, and integrates authentication verification to better optimize practicality and convenience, and promote the popularization of wireless charging.
Qi2 certification requires products to include EPP and MPP emission areas, and must include authentication. A single BPP wireless charger cannot undergo Qi2 certification. In a multi in one wireless charger, BPP can be included, but at least one EPP or MPP must be included.
MagSafe is a private agreement of Apple that requires MFi certification authorized by Apple to achieve fast charging of 15W for Apple phones. Otherwise, even if it can be "clicked" to charge, it will only be 7.5W, which limits the expansion of the ecosystem. Qi2 MPP upgrades the private protocol to WPC standard protocol. As long as it passes Qi2 certification, it can adapt to Apple's 15W fast charging, greatly reducing the cost of end customers and allowing more chip manufacturers and device manufacturers to jointly cultivate the ecosystem.
The all-new iPhone 15 series not only adopts USB-C interface across the entire range, but also emphasized at the launch event that the new device supports the new Qi2 wireless charging standard and can be compatible with Qi2 wireless chargers. This means that the Qi2 standard charger can provide up to 15W wireless charging for the iPhone 15 model like Apple's MagSafe charger, and the Qi2 charger does not require the use of Apple's expensive MagSafe module or obtain Apple's MFi certification.
According to the latest news, on the early morning of December 6th, Apple pushed iOS 17.2 RC version to developers. The version number of iOS 17.2 RC is 21C62. Unless unexpected, it will be pushed as the official version to all users next week. After upgrading to iOS 17.2 RC, iPhone 13 and 14 series will also unlock support for Qi2. At that time, the charging head network will provide a detailed explanation and comprehensive analysis of the impact and changes brought by this update.
Huaogn's Qi2 certification is about to get the certificate next month. We are looking forward to this.
